Wichita's Drive Time

Wichitas-drive-time

There is a common lie Wichitans tell ourselves: you can get everything you want on  one side of Wichita. If you live on the west side of Wichita, then there is no need to go east and vice versa. This idea that you can get everything you need in one specific location in Wichita is highly flawed. If this were true, why would you ever travel to Colorado, Kansas City, Tulsa? Here is a fun topic that everyone in Wichita likes to talk about - the possibility of Cheesecake Factory. You are lying to yourself if you think you would not drive across Wichita to go to the Cheesecake Factory, regardless of where it opened. So I ask you – why isn't an extra 10 minute drive time to get the quality service or product you are wanting worth the extra drive time?

GoTime with Foam Rolling

Foam-Rolling-Cover-Photo-2.0

It was GoTime with Foam Rolling

This weekend we had the privilege of teaching our 5 most important foam rolling areas to GoTime Training family. It was a gorgeous morning with their huge, glass-style garage doors (seen below) opened overlooking the Stryker Soccer Complex. The weather was perfect and so was the class engagement! GoTime training is over 10,000 square feet, offering bootcamp classes, semi-private classes, and nutritional consultations.

Unconference Tech/Gaming Expo

Wichita's Gaming World

This past Saturday, Drs. Rachel and Keith attended a tech expo for gamers at WSU. Led by Wichita eSports, several hundred individuals attended to participate in tournaments involving games such as League of Legends and Super Smash Bros projected up on the big screens for all to watch. Also, there were computers grouped together in the corners of the room for other tournaments such as NHL 17. All of this is proof of the presence and support the gaming community possesses here in Wichita, Kansas. For those of you that think gaming is only a pastime, well-known individuals, such as Mark Cuban, are starting to financially invest in leagues so we are guessing that it is here to stay. Gaming involves strategy, brings a team of individuals together, and its potential for the future is looking bright. Teams from major universities, such as Kansas State, attended to participate and observe the active push to grow Wichita’s gaming community. Not to mention, Shocker Startup held a pitch competition during the event too!

ICT Muscle & Joint Clinic's Future

Corona-lockdown

The Novel Coronavirus has changed the game for many across all industries. It is both frustrating (for more reasons than anyone can possible outline) and exciting. We often find adversity to be negative, but it also gives us an opportunity for re-evaluating desires and goals. When we started ICT Muscle and Joint Clinic here in Wichita, we knew we wanted to become more than a standard chiropractic clinic. We wanted to offer chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue treatments, and physical therapy type services all under one roof, within one visit, to produce superior results. However, we have not shared more than this. We want more. With the addition of our Westside location run by Dr. Sam Reals, we set out to create a hybrid office between chiropractic care and a gym atmosphere.

Maintenance Care?...It's Fitness!

IMG_8971

"Maintenance care” is a moniker used in the chiropractic profession to get patients to be proactive about their health and bodies by scheduling visits in advance even though they are not currently in pain. The thought in doing so would be to mitigate the likelihood of future injuries/presenting in pain by addressing issues prior to them getting to that point.

Clinic Insights from Our Intern Riley

Christmas-Photo

My name is Riley Dreher and I was blessed with the opportunity to complete 500 total hours of shadowing at ICT Muscle and Joint Clinic through Wichita State University. This internship was my final project to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. I have been accepted into Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, Kansas where I will begin attending school next January. During my time here at ICT Muscle & Joint Clinic, I was able to develop, study, and seek further knowledge of what I can offer to the future chiropractic world and what ICT Muscle & Joint Clinic has to future patients.

2018-Payment-Updates

Happy Holidays everyone!

We wish you, your family members, and friends the very best going into the new year! It is always exciting to think of what the next year will offer as you reflect on the previous year. For us, so many things have changed; Rachel and I were married, and we are now expecting our first child late spring. As I am writing this I cannot believe how much has changed so fast and how well Wichita has rallied behind our cause of setting a new standard for chiropractic care. Stating this there will be some changes in services and pricing for 2018.

Startup Grind, Thursday @The Lux

If you haven’t heard, with the start of 2017, Wichita now has its own edition of Startup Grind, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs. Startup Grind is another Wichita community event, held monthly, by and for the entrepreneurs of our city. January’s event was a huge success, with a turnout of 225 people! This month featured Brian Williamson, an entrepreneur in the world of pharmacy. The informal format of the event was set up to resemble a fireside chat between two people. The audience learned the process of Brian coming to be where he is now, including the many challenges and triumphs along the way.

Wichita Pride: Old Town 10K

road-fog-foggy-mist-2.0

It was an incredible morning this past Sunday. Wichita Running Company partnered with the Midian Shriners Charity to host the Old Town 10K, here in the heart of Kansas. The morning was perfect! If you’re a runner, you know what I’m talking about. This time of year feels incredible to rise out of bed, throw the sneakers on, and hit the pavement. It hasn’t been one of the hottest summers on record, but the changes in temperature are happening; it makes this time of year fun. Every morning is a new morning; you're not quite sure what it's going to feel like until you step out the door.

Stars & Stripes 5K

July 4th, 2016

The holiday weekend was a rainy one, to put it lightly. Some of that humidity hung around Monday morning, but that did not stop over 530 runners from participating in the 5K race. The course began inside Cessna Stadium and then ventured out around the Wichita State Campus. Many were festive in red, white and blue and everyone received a t-shirt and a finishers' medal.
