Weekend Happenings

Happy Friday Wichita!

LIFE RUN

We hope your week has treated you well, but we also know you are probably happy to see it end! This weekend, the chiropractic docs at ICT Muscle & Joint Clinic have a few things to look forward to:

First, Saturday morning marks the 3rd Annual Life Run 2016. The Office of Respect Life Social Justice sponsors this event & provides support to pregnant women & families along with the Hilltop neighborhood in southeast Wichita, KS. The race will take place in Wichita at Sedgwick County Park, and consists of a timed 5K beginning at 9 am followed by a 1.5 mile fun run/walk. The weather is looking pretty solid, maybe a little windy, but let's be honest, this is Kansas so we are used to that breeze by now! Registration will be available on race day & if you'd like more information, click here.

HIGH 5

Second on the agenda for the weekend, is the Derby High 5 & what a great way to ramp up your racing season! It will be hosted in High Park by the Derby Running Club. According to Google, the park is a quick 12 miles south on Rock Road from our office in Wichita. The event is celebrating its 12th year and includes a 1 mile race at 8 am followed by the 5K at 8:30am. We are told the park is fairly flat (bonus) and the views are scenic; hopefully the isolated thunderstorms in the forecast decide to hold off until after the event! Additionallly, you have the opportunity to register on race day at the event, and can find more details here.

Being functional chiropractors, we thrive by being around the active population, and what greater example of dedication than getting up early on the weekend to run a race! Usually, both of us have the opportunity to attend these races as an option for runners, volunteers & spectators to have some free muscle work done. Life & running can sometimes be hard on the body and Keith & I are happy to provide some relief to those painful or sore tissues! This weekend, Dr. Keith will be on his own to meet & treat the participants of the both races because his partner (me) has the opportunity to attend a seminar. My weekend hours will be spent learning to apply the DNS approach to weightlifters and the like. This method has sparked our interest ever since our first exposure to it more than two years ago. If you are interested to hear more about DNS or any other technique we offer, look around the website or give us a call!

P.S. Happy Mother's Day! Especially to all the hard working moms that help make Wichita the great community that it is!
